5 Accumulator
The menu “Accumulator is located in the “Selection” menu. Its submenus are described below.
Anti-freeze: The controller is equipped with a standard anti-freeze:
If the Acc. t.-F4 ≤ 7°C, the return valve Y1 and load valve Y2 open automatically and the load
pump M1 is activated. If an automatic heat generator exists, it is activated as well.
BSB F5 - Sensor positioning in an accumulator with 4 immersion sleeve (staggered in heights):
The immersion sleeve on top is defined as “first” – place F4 into it.
In the “second” place F5-1 and F5-2.
In the “third”, place F5-3; in the fourth place F5-4.
9.02 Acc. reserve (see chapter 5.3) may be set with a “large” accumulator not less than 5%.
BSB F5 - Sensor positioning in an accumulator with 5 immersion sleeve (staggered in heights), or in case of a Logotherm
conform heating system:
Conduct sensor positioning according to the heating system guidelines.
9.02 Acc. reserve (see chapter 5.3) may be set with a “small” accumulator to 0%,
determined by the positioning of the sensors.
BSB F5 - Logotherm conform sensor positioning:
Sensor positioning with only “one accumulator” or “multiple accumulators parallel”:
Measured from the weld seam of the top accumulator cap to the weld seam of the lower
accumulator cap carried out in 20% steps this results in “5” positions.
Sensor positioning with serial accumulator:
Allocation by total volume. Sensors F5(1-4) to be evenly distributed per total volume divided
by 4. The allocation is carried out in between F4 and the last BSB sensor F5(4). If the sensor
F5(4) is at the same height as the accumulator return, 9.02 Acc. reserve must not be set to
less than 5%, even if no accumulator reserve is needed for solar/heating element etc.
If the operating method is in accordance with the recommendation, do not start the combustion
until the “refuel signal” illuminates; because then a not accurate positioning of sensors F5(2) and
F5 (3) has no measurable effect.
Position “F4”: Is important for the functions RSA SLA PAE ABO.
F4 must not “directly” measure the boiler flow temperature in the accumulator. Select a position
offset of 90° to the boiler infeed, otherwise the boiler flow temperature is measured, and not the
actual accumulator temperature. The sensor F4 should be in the same height and close to the
connection HZV (heater infeed).
