Error may occur in the following operating status: In “Boiler OFF/ON and during calibration.
Error detection: The controller checks the internal resistance of the O
2
-measuring unit. If it is <20Ω, the error is displayed
immediately. A defective O
2
sensor (internal short circuit) or a wire short circuit at terminal (KL) 1 2 can be the cause.
Rectification: Call service technician possible causes:
1. Test O
2
sensors: Remove plug ST1, measure the resistance of the O
2
sensor at disconnected (KL1 2); it must be >1MΩ
with a cold O
2
sensor. Is that the case, continue with test 2.
2. Test wiring harness: Remove the 15-pin plug from the controller. Check for a resistance of <1Ω between the 15-pin plug
(KL4) and plug ST1 (KL2). Check for a resistance of <1Ω between the 15-pin plug (KL5) and plug ST1 (KL1). Is that the case,
continue with test 3.
3. Test wiring harness: The resistance measured at the removed 15-pin plug between terminal (KL) 4 and 5 must be
>1MΩ. Terminal (KL) 4 and 5 must have a resistance of >1MΩ to PE. Is that the case the controller is defective.
Experience shows that the controller is usually only defective, if faulty wiring or spurious actions damaged the applicable
input/output.
Controller function: Limited operation with auxiliary air V1-V2. The boiler is deactivated with the function TAG deactivation
independent from the setting 5.14 Switch-off with “O
2
or “TAG”.
Note: With a defective flue gas sensor at the same time, the controller switches the boiler OFF automatically after 24 hours, or it
can be switched off manually (press twice).

Error may occur in the following operating status: In Boiler ON and during calibration. Repeat the calibration, if the error occurs
during calibration ― may be required at very cold outside temperatures.
Error detection: Even though the heating is turned ON (12V) by the controller, the required internal resistance of the O
2
measuring element is not reached within 15 minutes.
Rectification: Call service technician possible causes:
1. Test Are plug ST1, the 5-pin and the 15-pin plugs properly connected with the controller? Is that the case, continue with
test 2.
2. Test wiring harness:
1. Remove the 5-pin plug and plug ST1 from the controller.
2. The 5-pin plug of the controller (KL3) must have a connection to plug ST1 (pin 4); the 5-pin plug of the controller (KL5)
must have a connection to plug ST1 (pin 3). Is that the case, continue with test 3.
3. Test Heater voltage:
1. Connect the 5-pin plug and remove plug ST1 from the controller.
2. Start manual calibration of the O
2
sensor.
3. The controller activates the heating voltage after 2 minutes. Check plug ST1 (pin 3 4) for a voltage of ≥ 11V~. Is that
the case, there is no wiring error and the controller is not defective. Continue with test 4.
4. Connect plug ST1 and measure the heating voltage at terminal (KL) 3-4. If there is no voltage present, the O
2
sensor is
defective (internal short circuit).
The heating voltage is protected by an overcurrent protection that automatically resets every approx. 30 seconds.
Experience shows that the controller is usually only defective, if faulty wiring or spurious actions damaged the applicable
input/output.
Controller function: Limited operation with auxiliary air V1-V2. The boiler is deactivated with the function TAG deactivation
independent from setting 5.14 Switch-off with “O
2
or “TAG”.
Note: Fouling of boiler and chimney is possible. With a defective flue gas sensor at the same time, the controller switches OFF
the boiler automatically after 24 hours, or it may be switched off manually (press twice).
