Rectangle Tool
Just like the line tool, the rectangle may be any width and any color. A rectangle may also be filled with any color.
The sides of the rectangle are always parallel to the rulers.
Note: To force the Rectangle tool to draw a square where all sides are equal, hold down the shift key on your
keyboard while you draw the rectangle.
Rectangle Line Color
You may adjust the color of the border surrounding the rectangle. To adjust the border color, refer to the “Adjusting
Line Color” part of the “Line Tool” section.
Rectangle Fill Color
You may adjust the fill color of the inside of the rectangle. To change the fill color use the Fill Color tool in the tool
bar.
Simply click on the down arrow tab located next to the icon that looks like a paint bucket. A palette of colors will
appear from which you may choose a fill color. To leave your rectangle transparent, where only the border will print
over the top of other items, choose the “None” option in the color palette. Only the basic 16 system colors are listed.
Rectangle Line Width
You may adjust the line width of the border surrounding the rectangle. To adjust the line width, refer to the
“Adjusting Line Width” part of the “Line Tool” section.
Rectangle Properties
You may change the corner radius of the rectangle and rounded rectangle tools. To adjust the corner radius, select
the rectangle item you wish to adjust, and choose the Properties option in the Object menu. The following dialog
box will appear:
To adjust the corner radius, simply enter the desired value in the entry blank or use the pull down menu to choose a
set size. Use “0” if you do not wish to have rounded corners.
