11. Feline A, B and AB Blood Typing
The expiration date of each cartridge is printed on the pouch label. Do not use the
cartridge after the expiration date.
The test cartridge can be used only once and only in combination with the Heska
Element COAG
Analyzer. Once used, the cartridge, pipette tip and diluent tube should
be considered as potentially infectious. Dispose of them properly in accordance with the
policies and regulations at the place of operation.

Always strictly adhere to all bio-hazard safety guidelines pertaining to handling
and disposing of animal blood samples.
11.3. Test Requirements
11.3.1. Materials and Equipment
In order to perform a Feline Blood Typing Test with the Heska Element COAG
Analyzer,
the following materials and equipment are required.
The following materials are required but not provided with the Feline Blood Typing Test:
Heska Element COAG
Analyzer
Syringes with a 22 gauge or larger needle
Sample collection tube with EDTA as the anticoagulant
100 µL fixed volume pipette.
The following materials are required and supplied with the Feline Blood Typing Test:
Feline A & B Blood Typing cartridge
Tube pre-filled with diluent (one for each cartridge). Each tube contains phosphate
buffered saline (PBS) at pH 7.4 and contains enough fluid to perform one test on a
cartridge.
Pipette tips.
Package insert for the Feline Blood Typing Test (shipped with each box of cartridges)
