This use model demonstrates how Adaptive Transmit Power Control works
in relation to SSID and RF Group Name configuration settings.
â– All AP-530 APs are owned/managed by the Airport
â– The Airport leases AP service to wireless providers
• T-Mobile and
• Boingo
■There are also APs in use by Airport tenants such as Jimbo’s that are not
AP 530 units.
Airport Case 1 – No RF Group Name
In this case, there are four AP 530s in the Airport network: AP #1, AP #2, AP
#3 and AP #4. Additionally, a food concession, Jimbo’s, also has an access
point, AP #N, which does not support . In these access points, the parameters
that impact are configured as follows:
AP #1 and AP #4 operate on the same channel and as such, will negotiate their
power levels when is enabled. AP #2 and AP #3 are not affected by , as they
each operate alone on their respective channels.
AP #1 and AP #4 are able to hear each other, and both can hear AP #N:
• AP #1 hears AP #4 and AP #N
• AP #4 hears AP #1 and AP #N
