DIMM installation guidelines
You must observe the following guidelines when installing additional memory:

Always install memory in pairs of equal capacity.
Install only PC2-3200R DIMMs.
Install DIMMs into both slots within a single bank.
Upgrade memory by installing DIMM pairs into banks in sequential bank
order, starting with bank B.
For online spare memory support, you must also observe additional guidelines
("Online spare memory configuration" on page 58
).
Installing DIMMs
1. Power down the server ("Powering down the server" on page 27).
2. Extend or remove the server from the rack ("Extending the server from the
rack" on page 28
).
3. Remove the front bezel door, if necessary.
4. Remove the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page 30
).
5. Open the DIMM slot latches.
