NOTE:
If management traffic does not need to be separated from other traffic types, configuring the MGMT
port is not necessary. When the MGMT port is not configured, it retains the factory default settings
and must be physically disconnected from any other device following Configuration Setup.
Gathering controller module information
MGMT port configuration requires that you know the serial numbers for both controller modules.
Procedure
1. Using a web browser on an administrative computer, connect to the SVMC, using the IP address or
hostname previously configured for the system.
2. On the StoreVirtual menu, select Storage Controllers.
3. Select one of the storage controllers from the list on the left.
4. In the right pane, select General from the drop-down menu next to the storage controller name. The
right pane displays controller module information, including the serial number.

5. Record the serial number for both controller modules.

Connecting an administrative computer to the MGMT port
Prerequisites
The MGMT port can be configured either immediately after running Configuration Setup, or at some time
after deploying the system into production.
