If you configure the MGMT port as a part of initial system setup, first run the Configuration Setup wizard
as described in the HPE StoreVirtual 3200 Storage Installation Guide. When Configuration Setup
completes, keep the administrative computer connected to the MGMT port of controller module 1.
If you configure the MGMT port some time after deploying the system into production, first verify that both
MGMT ports are physically disconnected from any other devices.
Procedure
1. Connect an Ethernet cable from an administrative computer to the MGMT port on the storage
controller in slot 1 of the array enclosure.
2. Configure the administrative computer as follows:
a. Use the following IP address:
172.16.253.205
b. Use the following subnet mask:
255.255.255.248
c. Do not use a default gateway.
3. From the Windows Start menu on the administrative computer, type cmd in the search field, and select
the cmd.exe program.
A command prompt window opens.
4. To ping storage controller 1, in the Command Prompt window, type:
ping 172.16.253.201
A successful connection returns ping replies and ping statistics.
5. To ping storage controller 2, in the Command Prompt window, type:
ping 172.16.253.202
A successful connection returns ping replies and ping statistics.
Disabling networking for the remote management processor
Procedure
1. Using an application such as PuTTY on the administrative computer, establish an SSH connection to
the remote management processor on storage controller 1 at IP address 172.16.253.203.
For the username, enter admin.
For the password, enter the storage controller serial number (as recorded in
Gathering controller
module information).
2. To complete the initial login, you must reset the password.
When prompted for the IAP password, re-enter the controller serial number.
Enter and confirm the new password as requested.
Make a note of the password in a secure manner for future reference.
3. At the haLO[1] command prompt, enter the following commands:
