Verifying the Shipment
Verify that the following items are included in the library shipment:
•Power cords
• Data cartridge
• Cleaning cartridge
• Foot pads (for desktop installation)
• IBM Translated Safety Notices
• IBM License Agreement for Machine Code
•Quick Reference
• Planning and Operator Guide CD-ROM
• Maintenance Information manual
• Warranty information
• Quality Hotline card
•Fibre wrap tool
• Fibre Channel library-to-host/switch cable (supplied by customer)
• Optional rack mount kit
• Drive canisters (if ordered)
Important: If any of the contents of your shipment are damaged or missing, please
call the appropriate number listed on the Quality Hotline card.
Removing Components to Reduce Library Weight
You can install the library in a rack or on a desktop. Remove the following
components from the library to reduce the weight.
• Power supply units
• Library Control Blade (LCB)
• Magazines and cartridges
Important: The library weighs almost 31 kg (68.3 lbs)
without drive canisters and power supplies. It is
recommended that you install the library in an accessible
position within a rack. Two or more people are required to
move the library safely.
