The Library Control Blade manages the entire library, including the Operator Panel
and Accessor, and is responsible for monitoring the library to ensure that the library is
functioning properly.
The LCB stores vital product data (VPD) such as library settings, serial number,
library logs, and Accessor calibration backup data.
An Ethernet port ( in Figure 2-7) on the LCB is used to connect the library to a
network. The LED ( in Figure 2-7) on the rear of the LCB is an Ethernet link activity
indicator. The RS-232 serial port ( in Figure 2-7) on the LCB is for use for IBM
engineering purposes only.
