Summary of Changes
This section describes the major technical changes made in this edition. This edition
may also include minor corrections and editorial changes that are not identified:
• IBM Total Storage Tape Drive 3592-E06 (Feature Code 9691) and IBM Total Storage
Tape Drive 3592-EU6 support added. All models of the 3592 tape drive support a
dual-ported switched fabric LC Fibre Channel connector. The 3592-E06 has an
Ethernet port on the rear panel and the 3592-E05 does not have an Ethernet port.
Though uncommon, some Model 3592-EU6 drives have an Ethernet port.
• DNS server support added. The DNS server setting allows the EKM, NTP, SNMP,
and SMTP servers to be specified using hostnames instead of numerical IP
addresses.
• Superuser accounts have been added to the Web User Interface. These accounts
provide access to the entire library and can perform functions such as moving
media and loading drives. A superuser cannot perform actions that modify the
library configuration.
• Encryption key path diagnostics have been added. These test the encryption key
path from the drive to the EKM server, and test the EKM server configuration.
