attachment, the library can also be attached to the IBM System Storage TS1120 Tape
Controller (also known as the 3592 C06 Controller) to provide access to very large
storage complexes.
The Ethernet port ( in Figure 2-8) on the E06, the RS232 serial port ( in Figure 2-9)
on the E05 and EU6, and the service panel port ( in Figure 2-8 and Figure 2-9) are
for use by IBM service representatives only. While not common, some Model EU6
drives might have an Ethernet port.
All E06 and EU6 drives are encryption-capable. Not all E05 drives are
encryption-capable. Look for the ’encryption-capable’ label ( in Figure 2-9). No
Model E06 drives and not all Model EU6 drives have an ’encryption-capable’ label.
The rear panel has 5 LEDs ( in Figure 2-8 and Figure 2-9) to display various drive
statuses. For more information on the drive LEDs, “Interpreting LEDs” on page 7-17.
• Port 0 and Port 1 Fibre Channel activity LEDs
• Library communications LED
• Drive Status LED. Blinks when there is a message on the Operator Panel or service
panel.
