1. Using a pencil, make a mark below the lowest 1U space on the front vertical rail
where the rack is to be installed. Make marks between each 1U space for a total
5U space. Repeat for the other vertical rails on the front and rear of the rack.
2. Identify and mark the holes in the vertical rails corresponding to the rail studs
located on the front and back of each shelf rail included in the Rack Mount Kit.
The rail studs go into the following positions.
a. In the front vertical rack rails ( in Figure 6-12):
• Middle hole in the first (bottom) 1U space
• Middle hole in the fifth (top) 1U space
b. In the rear vertical rack rails ( in Figure 6-13):
• Top hole in the first (bottom) 1U space
• Bottom hole in the fourth 1U space
