Replacement Procedure
1. Remove the packaging from the replacement power supply.
2. Grasp the handle ( in Figure 9-5) while supporting the power supply from
underneath and insert it into the rear of the library. Then, carefully push it into
the library.
3. Tighten the blue thumb screw ( in Figure 9-5) on the power supply unit by
turning it clockwise.
4. Connect the power cable ( in Figure 9-5) to the power supply unit.
5. Power ON the power supply by toggling the power switch ( in Figure 9-5) to
the ON (|) position.
6. From the Operator Panel, run the Library Verify test in the Service Mode menu.

7. If requested, take the library online. See “Taking the Library Offline/Online” on
page 7-23.
8. Package the failed power supply in the same packaging that the new power
supply was shipped to you in, and return to IBM.
9. Go to “End of Call” on page 7-26.
Replacing the Library Control Blade (LCB)

The Library Control Blade (LCB) manages the entire library, including the Operator
Panel and Accessor assembly. It also monitors the library to ensure that the library is
functioning properly.
