Replacing the Accessor Assembly
The Accessor assembly contains all the robotics of the library and is replaced as a
single unit.

Removal Procedure
1. Take the library offline. See “Taking the Library Offline/Online” on page 7-23.
2. In the Operator Panel top menu, select Unlock Magazine, and press Enter.
3. Select All Magazines, and press Enter.
4. Remove and clearly label the cartridge magazines from the library.
Note: If the cartridge magazines fail to unlock in response to the Unlock
Magazine command from the Operator Panel, you can unlock the
magazines manually. See “Unlocking Cartridge Magazines Manually” on
page 9-4.
5. Power OFF the library by toggling the power supply switch on both supplies to
the OFF (O) position.
6. Disconnect the power cables from the library power supply units.
7. Remove the Library Control Blade. See “Replacing the Library Control Blade
(LCB)” on page 9-8.

The Accessor assembly contains several electric motors
that generate an electrical current when moved.
Accordingly, the Library Control Blade must be removed
to prevent damage due to induced voltages when moving
the Accessor.
