Comms Absent
This occurs when the IDS BSR400 serial communication is enabled and the control card has not received
an acknowledge character (‘ACK’ hex 14) from the monitoring program for an event or heart beat sent to
it.
From Ver 3.10 > the “Comms Absent” trouble condition will only be issued after the following
communication fail detection process has been completed:
The event that failed to be acknowledged is re-sent to the monitoring program the selected
number of repeats, see paragraph 4.6.12 Event/Ack Repeats M424, default is 3.
Then the heart beat is sent to the monitoring program the selected number of repeats.
The event is again sent to the monitoring program the selected number of repeats.
And finally, only after the heart beat has been re-sent to the monitoring program the selected
number of repeats and still no acknowledge is received is the “Comms Absent” trouble condition
issued.
