IDS Base Station Receiver 400 700-179-02B Issued January 2009 45
The IDS BSR400 requires an acknowledge signal [ACK] from the computer software within six seconds
(default) for each message sent. Failure to receive an [ACK] will initiate a maximum of 3 additional
attempts to resend the message. The IDS BSR400 can stores over a 1 000 messages in non-volatile
memory and these statuses and events will automatically be sent to the PC when serial communication is
re-established.
The status of the serial communication with the PC is reported as a “System MSG” on the panel display,

The events stored in the event log may be re-output to the PC from the “Standby mode” using the 4.6.2
Enable Serial M411function to select an operation period once serial communications have been
established.
The IDS BSR400 has a Date Stamp (date, time, and year) option that may be enabled as a pre-fix or
post-fix to either the event or heart beat (poll) outputs or both. The serial protocol must be as follows:
9600 baud
1 start bit
