• An event that is sent to the monitoring program that is not acknowledged but the heart beat
(poll) event does, during the process of attempting to re-establish communication with the
monitoring program, is tagged to indicate that it failed to be acknowledged and the control
card outputs the next event in the log. The event will be displayed and printed.

The IDS BSR400 has a separate viewer to display “TROUBLE Event” conditions entered into the Event
Log, see Table 2: TROUBLE Conditions. The restore state is not shown but is added to the Event Log as
it is displayed on the front panel. The TROUBLE Event Log events and their “Restoral” are output on the
SOUT serial line, if enabled, but the “Status Events” are not. All TROUBLE events and Restorals are
viewed in the event log.

LINE TROUBLE Line Restoral LCx could not detect the presence of a
telephone line.
AC LOSS AC Restoral Missing 220 volts AC mains supply
LOW SYSTEM BATTERY Battery Restoral Battery voltage below 10 to 11 volts due to
a faulty battery or incorrect regulator setting
COMMS ABSENT Comms Restoral The BSR400 did not receive a handshake
(Ack) from the monitoring processor (PC)
PRINTER ERROR Printer Restoral Printer “Status” error detected
LINE CARD ABSENT Line Card Restored Line card failed to respond to a “Poll”
Status Events
SYSTEM RESET The BSR400’s main and battery supplies
where switched off and have been restored
Program Mode Entry The BSR400 operator accessed the
“Program Mode”
Time/Date Reset A “Date or Time” error detected and the
clock has been reset.
Keypad Lock Out Access to the “Program Mode” is denied
**DEFAULTS LOADED** All “Default” settings are re-loaded and if a
hardware default the Event Log is cleared
