The wake-up function facilitates a timed alarm that operates between 6pm and 6am (1800...0600 hours).
The alarm is programmable in [1...255] minute increments and is disabled by entering zero (0). The alarm
will sound each time the entered period times out during the defined night period. Any key pressed will
reset the timer as well as switch off the alarm if it is activated.

The serial output (Sout) menu has been split into two menus. The Format menu, which is the original,
and the additional System
SystemSystem
System menu for adjusting the communications timing with the monitoring program.
The IDS BSR400 provides serial output (Sout) communication port facility to pass status and event
information to a PC based monitoring program. When enabled the IDS BSR400 will output the heart beat
(polling) sequence terminated by a [DC4] control character to establish and maintain communications
with the monitoring program, see 4.6.4 Heart Beat (Poll) Date/Pre/Post M413. Initially, when the PC
outputs the first [ACK] control character in response to the heart beat (poll) sequence to establish or re-
establish communications, the IDS BSR400 will output all accumulated events received in the format
described in paragraph 4.6.13 Basic Signal Protocol
