1 Introduction
1.1 General description
The Matrix MKII+ is a fibre optic multiplexer system with power control of external devices.
Based on Innova’s LINK fibre-optical multiplexer technology, the Matrix MKII+ has the highest
data capacity on the market, while providing up to 1200W DC power to sensors and external
equipment.
The system consists of a subsea canister for collecting data and video signals and providing
power and data to the attached equipment; and a topside rack mounted control console. In
standard configuration, the system has the following capabilities:
• 2 off 1Gbps Ethernet channels.
• 3 off 100Mbps Ethernet channels.
• 9 off RS232 channels of which 3 channels are dedicated for HD video camera control
(one spare in canister).
• 4 off software selectable RS232/RS485channels.
• 2 off TTL trigger channels.
• 2 off 48VDC/ 24VDC, 6A max power outputs with software resettable fuse. Voltage is
user selectable via software.
• 1 off 48VDC 3A or 24VDC 6A max power output with software resettable fuse .
• 10 off 24VDC, 2A max power outputs with software resettable fuse.
• 1 off 110/230VAC, 3,15A power output with fuses (output voltage is the same as voltage
supplied to the canister).
In addition to the standard configuration, the following options can be added without sacrificing
any of the capabilities above:
• 2 off PECL channels.
• Up to 3 off HD-SDI digital video channels.
The following options can be added with sacrificing some of the capabilities above:
• Up to 6 analogue video channels.
• 1 off aditional RS232 channel.
