CHAPTER 10
Errors, Advisories, and Hazard Alarms
Safety Checks
The OmniPod System has a very important safety feature:
It can check its own functions and let you know when
something needs attention. When you turn on the Personal
Diabetes Manager (PDM), the System automatically performs
a series of safety checks. To make you aware of a serious or
potentially serious condition, the System sounds an alarm and
displays an on-screen message. The message has instructions
for taking care of the alarm condition. Alarm conditions are
easy to handle. They are not a problem if you attend to them
promptly.
Blood Glucose Meter Error Messages
These messages let you know about an error in the blood
glucose meter, test strip, sample, or results. The PDM beeps
and displays an error message number. The following table
explains what the message could mean and what you should
do.
Check your blood glucose level frequently.
