12.15.CHECKINGEXTENSIONROPES
Theoperationsdescribedinthisparagraphmustbecarriedoutbyqualifiedstaff.
Itisrecommendedtocontactanauthorisedcentretohavethestateofthepulleys
andropesbyexpertskilledstaff.Adetailedprocedureisgivenbelowfortheexe‐
cutionofthecontrolofthestateoftheropesand pu
lleysandforthecheckand
anyresetofthecorrectdegreeofropetension.
12.15.1.Checkingwearanddeformationofropesandpulleys
1 Checkthattherearenobrokenthreadsonthesurfaceoftherope,intheinter‐
nalareaorincorrespondencewiththecablesock
et.
2 Checkthattherearenosignsofcorrosionontherope.
3 Checkthattherearenosignsofkinking,crushingordeformationsofanytype
ontherope.
RespectingthetimesindicatedinthePeriodicmaintenancetableʺPeriodical
maintenanceintervals (p. 147)ʺ it is important  to check wear and replace
anyextensionropes,ifnec
essary.
RememberthatropesandpulleysmustbereplacedbyanAuthorised
centre. The Constructor is not liable for damage/injury caused to
objects/persons/animalsinthecaseofincorrectassemblyoftheli‐
ftingsystemsbyunqualifiedstaff.
Ifonlyoneofthefollowingsituationsisdetectedtheropesorpulleys mustbe
replaced.
