Frequency Sweep
In the frequency sweep mode, the function generator “steps” from the start
frequency to the stop frequency at a sweep rate which you specify. You can sweep
up or down in frequency, and with either linear or logarithmic spacing. You can
also configure the function generator to output a single sweep (one pass from
start frequency to stop frequency) by applying an external or manual trigger. The
function generator can produce a frequency sweep for sine, square, or ramp
waveforms (pulse, noise, dc, and arbitrary are not allowed).
For more information on the fundamentals of a sweep, refer to Chapter 7,
"Tutorial".
To Select Sweep
– The function generator will not allow the sweep mode to be enabled at the
same time that burst or any modulation mode is enabled. When you enable
sweep, the burst or modulation mode is turned off.
– Front-Panel Operation: You must enable sweep before setting up any of the
other sweep parameters. Press to output a sweep using the present
settings for frequency, output amplitude, and offset.
– Remote Interface Operation: To avoid multiple waveform changes, enable the
sweep mode after you have set up the other parameters.
