Remote Interface Configuration
This section gives information on configuring the function generator for remote
interface communication. For information on configuring the
instrument from the
front panel, see
“To Configure the Remote Interface” starting on page 59. For
information on the SCPI commands available to program the function generator
over the remote interface, see Chapter 4, "Remote Interface Reference", starting
on page 161.
The Keysight 33210A supports remote interface communication using a choice of
three interfaces: GPIB, USB, and LAN. All three interfaces are “live” at power up.
This section describes some interface configuration parameters that you may
need to set on your function generator.
– GPIB Interface. You need only set the GPIB address for the function generator
and connect it to your PC using a GPIB cable.
– USB Interface. There is nothing to configure on your function generator. Just
connect the function generator to the PC with a USB cable.
– LAN Interface. By default, DHCP is On, which may enable network
communication over the LAN interface. You may need to set several
configuration parameters as described in the LAN configuration sections that
follow.
Connectivity Software and Product CDs
The Keysight 33210A is shipped with two CDs:
– Keysight Automation-Ready CD: This CD contains the Keysight IO Libraries
Suite software, which must be installed to enable remote-interface operations.
The CD auto-starts and provides information on installing the software. Refer
to the Keysight Technologies USB/LAN/GPIB Connectivity Guide, which is
provided on this CD-ROM, for additional background information.
– Keysight 33210A Product-Reference CD: This CD contains the 33210A
instrument drivers, the Keysight Intuilink Waveform Editor software, the
complete set of Keysight 33210A product manuals, and programming
examples. The CD auto-starts and provides a Welcome page with instructions.
