3.16.9 WINS Server (LAN)
WINS (Windows Internet Naming Service) is an Internet service that
translates Host names to IP addresses. The WNS server address is the IP
address of a server that performs this service.
Setting up a WNS
Server address
Contact your network administrator to find out whether WINS is
being used, and for the correct WINS server address.
Enter the address using the numeric keypad (not the knob).
The WINS server address is stored in non-volatile memory and does
not change when power has been off or after a remote interface
reset.
Set the “WINS
Server” address
Press the WINS Server softkey and enter the address of the WINS server
(there are two DNS Server addresses) in the IP address format (using the
keypad). Set the WINS Server 1 and WINS Server also.
