7.4 Pattern Generation
Introduction
The 81150A / 81160A's pattern functionality is implemented as an
extension of the Pulse Mode. In addition to RZ pulses, it allows the
generation of pattern sequences that are using either NRZ formatting with
adjustable transition times as well as arbitrary transition definitions which
are being refered as bit shapes. The pattern generation itself allows the
definition of pattern sequences with 2, 3 or 4 different level settings, which
allows the emulation of electrical idle sequences as being required in
several serial data protocols like USB 1.1, Flexray or CAN.
