6.1.14 Troubleshooting on Bus Coupler
Bus couplers are used for galvanic isolation. Besides,
they regenerate the CAN bus signals.
The power LED (1) lights up continuously during
normal operation.
It is set flashing during the booting process. If it is
dark, the device is either defective or not properly
connected to the power supply (5).
The two error LEDs (2) are set flashing if
communication errors occur. If they light up
continuously, there is no connection to the CAN
bus: check CAN board connection
The two Rx LEDs (3) are flashing during CAN bus
communication.
The two enclosure screws (4) need to be removed
and the device opened only if the internal
terminating resistors require checking. The
resistors are factory-preset to ON.
This means that the jumpers (6)JP4 (channel 1)
and JP3 (channel 2)must be in the setting
positions shown in the figure. Moving the jumpers
to the left switches the terminating resistors off.
Make sure that the two selector switches (7) for
the baud rate are set to 7 (100 kbd).
Verify that the cables (VS+, GND) leading to the
PSU are correctly connected.
Briefly press the reset button (8):
this resets the error LED.
Press down the reset button (8) >3 s:
this restarts the converter, with the power
LED (1) flashing during the booting process.
