The
SLAVE-FREE
switch
provides
slaving
mode
selection
for
the
associated
AHS
heading
output
.

the switch
is
set
to
SLAVE,
the
associated
AFS
heading
output
will
be
referenced
to
its
magnetic
slaving
unit
and
the
associated
compass
cards
will
reflect this
"slaved"
alignment
.
When
the
switch
is
set
to
FREE,
the
associated
AHS
heading
output
will
not
be
referenced
to
its
magnetic
slaving
unit
.
The
SLAVE
L-R
switch
provides
for
manual
dewing
of the
associated
compass
cards
.
Small
heading
splits
can
usually
be
cleared
by
cycling the
SLAVE-FREE
switch
to
FREE
and
then
balk
to
SLAVE
while
the
aircraft
is
in
straight
nd
level,
unaccelerated
flight
.

REVERSIONARY
MODE
The
AHS/AHS
switches
an

ERS
CONTROL
panels

used

lect
the
attitude
heading
system

the
respective
EFIS display

flight
director

On-side
AHS

selection

by

annunciation
on
the
switch

Reversionary
(cross-side)
selection

amber
annunciation
on
the
switch
.

reversion
on
either
side will also
cause
the

horizontal

line
divides

areas to represent
the
horizon

marks

drum

every
5' of pitch in
both
CLIMB
and
DIVE
atti-
tudes
.
The
adjustable
miniature
airplane
symbol
indicates
aircraft
pitch
and
roll
attitude
relative
to
the
horizon
.
The
symbol
is
adjustable
through
5' of
pitch in
both
CLIMB
and
DIVE
directions
using
the
PULL
TO
CAGE
knob,
Rotating
the
knob
moves
the
symbol
and a
pointer
that
indicates
symbol
pitch
displacement
on
a
scale
marked
in 1"
incre-
ments
.
The
knob
is
slowly
pulled
out
and
rotated
clockwise
to
cage
the
gyro
.
When
released,
the
knob
will
remain
in
the
extended
position
.
