MOUNTING ADAPTER
The mounting adapter consists of a standard ANSI flange (150 psi stainless
steel) with a 2” (76.2mm) stainless steel ferrule welded to it. Refer to the
mounting adapter drawing in the drawing section of this manual. Standard
mounting adapters are available for pipe sizes of 2” (50.8mm) through 6”
(152.4mm). Larger adapters or custom adapters are available on special order.
The mounting adapter includes a clamp and a sealing cap that is permanently
attached to the mounting adapter by a chain. The purpose of the sealing cap is
to cover the hole in the mounting adapter if the MAC155 Probe is removed. The
clamp is used to hold either the sealing cap or the MAC155 Probe in place. A
Teflon gasket is also provided with the mounting adapter. This gasket goes
between the MAC155 Probe and the ferrule on the mounting adapter. The
gasket is also used with the sealing cap if the MAC155 Probe is removed.
The mounting adapter is bolted to the flange on the instrumentation port
using an appropriate gasket to assure a leak proof connection. The sealing cap
should be left in place on the mounting adapter during installation to protect the
ferrule from dents which might prevent a perfect seal. The sealing cap should be
left in place until the MAC155 Probe is to be inserted into the port.
