Either of the following options can be included:
1) +/- 15V power supplies to power the probe.
2) RS485 to fiber optic converter (Requires user supplied 62.5/125u
multimode duplex fiber optic cable with ST connectors). Note that the
MAC155 controller fiber optic converter junction box option is also
required for fiber optic communication between the probe and controller.
MAC155 CONTROLLER FIBER OPTIC CONVERTER JUNCTION BOX
OPTION
The RS485 to fiber optic converter that is located at the controller, is housed
in a die cast aluminum enclosure measuring approximately 7.5” X 7.5” X 2.5”.
The 6 conductor I/O cable connects between the controller and the terminal strip
in the fiber optic converter junction box. The I/O cable supplies +/- 15V DC
power to the fiber optic converter module, as well as the RS485 digital
communication signal. Refer to the controller fiber optic converter outline
drawing and wiring diagram at the end of this manual for details.
PROBE INSERTION
The MAC155 Probe should not be inserted into the instrumentation port until
it is ready to be used. This is because moist air will diffuse into the MAC155
Probe and condense inside the instrument. The barrel of the MAC155 Probe is
electrically heated to prevent this, but power must be connected to the
instrument for the heater to work. Allow 30 minutes for the MAC155 Probe to
warm up.
