CHECKING FRONT
BRAKE WEAR
Use this opportunity to check the disc for wear. Should
it be scored or unevenly worn, it can be reground.
If disc thickness has worn to less than 4.5 mm the
discs must be changed.
Minimum thickness of the pads is 2 mm.
REPLACING THE FRONT CALIPER
Undo screw (V).
Empty the hydraulic circuit and drain the fluid into a
container so that it may be disposed of in compliance
with statutory environmental and waste disposal
legislation.
When removing the caliper, take care to pro-
tect the hydraulic line, disc and brake pads
from damage.
After working on the brake system, make sure that the
brake fluid line is not twisted, that the discs and pads
are not contaminated with oil or grease and that all
screws and unions are fully tightened.
Anomalous resistance or a spongy feel
when operating the brake lever denote im-
paired operation of the brake system.
