USER SETTINGS let you disable or enable some of
the automatic features of the CDR420, and secure your
settings of the CDR420 against unauthorized changes.
For example, one of the USER SETTINGS lets you
disallow formatting the Hard Drive. Then in order
to format the Hard Drive one has to fi rst change the
USER SETTING and then choose the UTILITY
MENU's FORMAT HDD choice. The two step process
reduces the likelihood that the Hard Drive is formatted

If ? is chosen the CDR420 will always ask you if you
want to make a CD after recording. If Y is chosen, a
CD is always automatically made at the end of every
recording session. If N is chosen, a CD is not made at
the end of a recording session. System default N

• Press and release the Jog Wheel to review or reset
• Turn the Jog Wheel to tab through the User Setting
• Press and release the UTILITY MENU button to
return to RECORD SETTING.
• Press and release the Stop button
• Do nothing. After one minute the CDR420 returns
to Idle Mode with your changes, if any, saved.
