DIGITAL INTERFACE MODULE
The Digital Interface Module (DIM) provides up to two channelized T1/E1 ports
for voice and data. A Secondary T1/E1 Processor (STEP) daughterboard is
required for the second T1/E1 port. The DIM supports up to 30 channels for voice,
including support of G. 711, G726, and G.729 voice compression schemes with
the installation of Digital Voice Processor (DVP) daughterboards. The DIM
supports up to 32 channels for data. The card supports transmission rates of 8
Kbps (G.729) and 40, 32, 24, or 16 Kbps (G.726), or 64 Kbps (G.711).
WARNING:
The DIM I/O card
cannot coexist
with the following cards in the same
CX950 chassis:
- Analog Voice I/O Card
- DDVC (Dual Digital Voice Compression) Card
