10.2 Checking the Module Status
Module communication test
The module communication test checks the hardware of the FX5-CCLGN-MS. The module hardware is checked when the
communication using the FX5-CCLGN-MS is unstable.
The following table lists the tests performed.
Procedure
1. Set the following setting to "Module Communication Test".
[Navigation window] [Parameter] [Module Information] Ta r ge t mo du l e [Module Parameter] [Application
Settings] [Module Operation Mode]
2. Connect the P1 and P2 of the FX5-CCLGN-MS with an Ethernet cable.
3. Write the module parameters to the FX5 CPU module.
4. Reset or power off and on the FX5 CPU module to start the module communication test.
Do not execute access to buffer memory during the module communication test. Otherwise, the test may be
completed with an error.
Do not perform a module communication test while connected to another station. The operation of the other
station may fail. Be sure to use an Ethernet cable to connect together the P1 and P2 of the FX5-CCLGN-MS
on which a module communication test is performed.
Checking on the status and result of the module communication test
The test status and result can be checked with the LED indications of the module.
Test item Description
Internal self-loopback test Checks whether the communication function of the module can be performed normally.
External self-loopback test Checks whether the communication can be performed normally with the Ethernet cable connected between two
connectors of the module.
