<APN>
(Access Point
Name)
String parameter, which is a logical name that is used to
select the GGSN or the external packet data network.
If the value is null or omitted, the subscription value is
requested.
<PDP_address> String parameter, which identifies the MT in the address
space applicable to the PDP.
If the value is null or omitted, a value may be provided by
the terminal during the PDP startup procedure or, failing
that, a dynamic address is requested.
The Read form of the command continues to return the null
string even if an address has been allocated during the
PDP startup procedure. The allocated address may be
read using the +CGPADDR command.
The default value is 0.
<d_comp> Numeric parameter that controls PDP data compression.

The default value is 0.
<h_comp> Numeric parameter that controls the PDP header
compression.

Note: Currently, only one data compression algorithm
(V.42bis) is provided in SNDCP. If and when other
algorithms become available, a command will be provided
to select one or more data compression algorithms.
The default value is 0.
<pd1>,…<pdN> Zero to N string parameters whose meanings are specific
to the <PDP_type>.
For PDP type OSP:IHOSS the following parameters are
defined:
<pd1> <host> Fully formed domain name, or
extended hostname of the Internet
host.
<pd2> <port> TCP or UDP port on the Internet
host.
<pd3> <protocol> Protocol to be used over IP on the
Internet - "TCP" or "UDP”.
The default is 0.
