LED Charge Indications
The charge LED shows the status of the battery charging in the mobile computer. The Standard Battery usually
charges in less than five hours and the Extended Life Battery usually charges in less than eight hours. See Table
2-2 on page 2-7 for charging status indications.
Speed LED
The green Speed LED lights to indicate that the transfer rate is 100 Mbps. When it is not lit it indicates that the
transfer rate is 10Mbps.
Link LED
The yellow Link LED blinks to indicate activity, or stays lit to indicate that a link is established. When it is not lit it
indicates that there is no link.
Daisychaining Ethernet Cradles
Daisychain up to four cradles to connect several MC31XXs to an Ethernet network. Use either a straight or
crossover cable. Daisy-chaining should not be attempted when the main Ethernet connection to the first cradle is
10 Mbps as throughput issues will almost certainly result.
To daisychain cradles:
1. Connect power to each Ethernet cradle to daisychain.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable to Port 1 of the first cradle as shown in Figure 2-11.
3. Connect a second Ethernet cable between Port 2 of the first cradle and Port 1 of the second cradle.
4. Connect additional cradles as described in step 3.
