3.9.1. SAFETY DISTANCE FROM DITCHES/ESCARPMENTS.
DANGER!
When operating the outriggers, always keep the required safety distance from ditches/escarpments.
The safety distance depends on:
type of ditch/escarpment (underpropped or not);
type of soil.
ATTENTION!
Prior to operating the outriggers, for all types of soil always consider the following:
solidity/consistency;
admissible pressures.
ATTENTION!
To evaluate the consistency of the soil or the safety distance from ditches/escarpments, it is always
advisable to consult with the worksite manager or an expert (for example, a civil engineer).
3.9.2. WARNINGS FOR PRUNINGS AND NURSERYMEN.
DANGER!
Prevent any cut logs, branches, etc. from falling on the platform, on the safety devices, on any
vehicles parked nearby or workers on the ground.
DANGER!
Use the chain saws in the basket with care: this type of tool generates a considerable dragging
force in an outward direction.
DANGER!
Do not interpose the arms of the machine and the operator between the ground and the tree
(branch, shrub, etc.) to be cut, in order to prevent the plant from crashing down onto the platform
and cause it to tip over.
