The condition is satisfied if the spirit level inside the instrument is completely inside the circumference that identifies the
maximum allowed gradient.
The spirit level is an instrument that indicates how the lowering of the feet is taking place. It also indicates whether or not
outrigging was properly carried out and, in case it was not, it informs us which levers must be operated in order to correctly
level the cart.
7.2.2.2. ELECTRONIC SPIRIT LEVEL (OPTIONAL)
The green indicator only comes on if the outrigging has been performed by bringing the vehicle within the allowed gradient,
see paragraph “CONTROLS”.
If the gradient is not correct, the red alarm light will come on. In this case, perform the necessary manoeuvres to level the
vehicle, possibly inserting distributing plates under the outriggers.
7.2.3. STABILIZATION CHECK
In order to check the stabilization, proceed as follows:
STEP ACTION
1
Verify the proper levelling of the cart (see ‘CART LEVELLING CHECK’)
2
Check that the outriggers are properly resting on the ground, and that the ground has not sagged after
raising the carriage.
3
Make sure that the rear axle of the carriage is off the ground.
4
Make sure that the green indicator light up (see “CONTROLS”).
In case one of these checks has a negative outcome, repeat the ‘OUTRIGGING’.
ATTENTION!
Before you start raising the basket, it is crucial to make sure that all outriggers are firmly resting
on solid ground, with no holes, rocks sticking out of the soil, sumps, grilles or bridges that may
compromise the solidity.
If you need to work on soft ground, you will be required to place a load distribution board of suitable size under the outrigger
foot in order to increase the contact area and decrease the specific load, which must be less than what the ground type
and condition can withstand. Wooden or plastic plates must be kept dry and free of any oil or grease, which could make the
support slip.
The plate must rest firmly on the ground. It may need to be levelled, and the outrigger must be positioned in the centre.
