Use and warning instructions in compliance with EC regulations - Page 22
♦ while working, always keep the safety distance from any live power lines or electrical equipment;
♦ always make sure that power has been cut out to the parts on which you plan on working on;
♦ if the work at height is indoors: make sure the exhaust gases are discharged outside the premises where you are
working and, if necessary, use a breathing apparatus and a face mask.
DANGER!
During movements of the extending structure all occupants of the cage must place their hands so
as to avoid the risk of pinching against structures or objects that can be close to the cage. For this
purpose we recommend always holding the handrail that is furthest away from external objects.
3.11. PROHIBITIONS
In particular, employees are prohibited from:
♦ removing or modifying any safety or signalling or control devices without proper authorization;
♦ carrying out, on their own initiative, operations or manoeuvres which are not assigned to them or which may compromise
their own safety as well as the safety of other employees;
♦ wearing bracelets, rings or chains that may dangle and be dragged by moving components, thus creating a dangerous
situation for the operator;
♦ modifying the electrical connections in order to bypass the internal safety devices;
♦ overloading the basket beyond the allowed carrying capacity (taking into account the weight of the workers and of the
equipment and materials);
♦ loading or unloading material when the basket is in a high position or if the material does not pertain to the job being
carried out;
♦ exceeding the maximum number of people allowed on the platform (as indicated on the plate affixed to the basket);
♦ disassembling any component and/or removing the ballast from the carriage;
♦ moving the platform when it is loaded onto vehicles, ships, scaffolding or similar;
♦ climbing onto the platform when they are not in perfect physical conditions;
♦ using the platform if it has not been suitably inspected and maintained;
♦ standing inside the vehicle cab when the machine is stabilized;
♦ using the platform as a welding mass;
♦ using the platform in poorly lit places (where there is no suitable lighting);
♦ standing on the floor while the machine is moving;
♦ approaching the moving parts of the machine;
♦ using the machine:
♦ to lift materials with dimensions that exceed the basket dimensions;
♦ on soft ground unable to withstand the pressure and the load of the outriggers;
♦ on a slope or inclination greater than 3° or on slippery surfaces; in the case of a slope at a greater angle, use
distribution boards to reduce the difference in level and, in the case of the risk of slipping, anchor the platform
to a structure with cables or ropes.
♦ with manual strain in the basket greater than 20 daN for each operator (maximum 40 daN for multiple operators);
♦ with wind speeds greater than 12.5 m/s;
♦ during thunderstorms;
♦ under conditions of poor visibility;
♦ in areas with insufficient ventilation (the exhaust gases of heat engines are toxic).
