3.12. INTENDED USE
The machine in question has been designed for:

cleared and confined ar-

The employer is responsible for defining the limits in terms of the presence of personnel, and such definition may entail more
restrictive limitations.
The machine was designed for the purpose of:
♦ satisfying the specific needs mentioned in the sales contract;
♦ being used according to the instructions and the limits of use indicated in this manual.
The machine is designed and built to work safely if:
♦ it is used within said limits;
♦ the procedures illustrated in the operating manual are properly followed;
♦ routine maintenance is carried out at the frequency and in the ways indicated in the manual;
♦ extraordinary maintenance is promptly carried out in case of need;
♦ the safety devices are not removed and/or bypassed.
Disembarkation and reimbarkation at levels other than ground level is not strictly prohibited, but the safety manager at the
workplace must first prepare a specific risk assessment and work procedure that takes at least the following factors into
account:
♦ Entity of movement due to disembarkation, as foreseen in the aforementioned procedure.
♦ Method and times of transfer of the worker from the basket to the work area.
♦ Risks of people falling during transfer from the basket to the work area at a height.
♦ Risks associated with the falling of equipment and/or materials during transfer of people from the basket to the work
area at a height.
♦ The load limitations of the basket.
♦ The alarm signals of the machine (load or moment limiter, and any proximity sensors).
♦ The limits and prohibited uses of the machine indicated in any case in the user manual;
♦ The availability and actual use of sufficient PPE for each person carried;
ATTENTION!
If the machine does not receive information from the surrounding environment, the operator is fully
responsible for positioning the basket in accordance with the aforementioned procedure!
ATTENTION!
During disembarkation or reimbarkation, avoid contact between the parts of the machine and the
surrounding environment in order not to damage the platform or structure at a height!
