Maintenance
8. MAINTENANCE
8.1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
ATTENTION!
It is prohibited to carry out maintenance, lubrication and repair jobs while the machine is moving
and/or powered. Only in sporadic cases a qualified operator may carry out operational checks or
adjustments with the machine moving or powered, complying with the procedures and prescriptions
contained in this manual.
It is necessary to affix warning signs indicating “MACHINE UNDER MAINTENANCE”.
It is mandatory for maintenance personnel to wear all the personal protection equipment (gloves, safety goggles, overalls,
ecc.) needed for the operation to be carried out, as indicated in this manual.
During the operations, all unauthorized personnel are required to stay outside the operational area; if the operation requires
the removal of guards, isolate the area with barriers and affix signs that prohibit access to people extraneous to the
maintenance jobs.
After the maintenance jobs have been carried out and before putting the machine back in service, the following must be
done:
♦ check that any replaced pieces and/or tools used to carry out the maintenance have been removed from the machine;
♦ check all the safety devices;
♦ carefully inspect the machine prior to putting it back in service and make sure that all guards have been reassembled
and properly fixed in their seat.
ATTENTION!
Prior to putting the machine back in operation, make sure that there are no exposed individuals
standing in the dangerous areas.
8.2. GENERAL INFORMATION
Machine maintenance includes the inspection, verification, checking, adjustment and replacement jobs that may become
necessary following normal use of the machine.
The jobs concern both mechanical and electrical parts.
For proper maintenance:
♦ Use only original parts and tools suited for the purpose and in good conditions.
