The extendible structure has to stop at the extension indicated in the EDT (“Constructive characteristics of the
aerial platform”, “DEKRA or “APAVE” report, “Prüfbuch für Hebebühnen”, “ABOMA report, etc.), extending the
jib up to the blocking point. (The proper measurement of the extension must be carried out starting from the
centre of the fifth wheel up to the outer edge of the basket).

Lower the main boom by a few degrees, raise the jib boom up to 30° and extend it until it reaches the new stop
point. Then test to make sure that the raising movement of the main boom, the lowering movement of the jib
and its telescopic function are blocked-
7.3.4. LOAD SENSING SYSTEM
All the platforms mounting a small size basket (surface lower than 1 m
2
et no side longer than 1,4m) are not equipped with
load sensing system.
For all other platforms (or where required as optional) the operation mode of this device is describe in the specific annex of
this manual.
7.4. PROCEDURES FOR SOLVING PARTIAL BREAKDOWNS
Cases of partial breakdowns may present themselves which do not require the emergency procedure to be implemented,
since they can be solved in a simpler and faster way by following the instructions provided here below.
7.4.1. BREAKDOWN OF THE BASKET CONTROLS
In case the cage controls are no longer working, perform the procedure below:
STEP ACTION
1
Take the operator station selection key in the vehicle cab.
2
Switch the selector located on the control station from the base to the controls from the base position, thus
excluding the controls from the basket and enabling those from the base.
3
Control the platform from the base, bringing it to its resting position and thus allowing the operator to be
lowered to the ground.
4
Contact the Assistance department to have the breakdown repaired.
7.4.2. BREAKDOWN OF THE CONTROLS FROM THE BASE.
In case the controls from the base are no longer working, proceed as follows if there is an operator in the cage trained in
the use of the platform:
STEP ACTION
1
Take the operator station selection key in the vehicle cab.
2
Switch the selector located on the control station from the base to the ''controls from cage'' position, thus
excluding the controls from the base and enabling those in the cage.
