2.8. ADVICE FOR THE USER
As regards the users of the machine, we recommend paying attention to the following items:
read through this entire manual (for a better understanding of the procedures);
operate in full compliance with company procedures and with the procedures indicated in the technical documentation;
refrain from carrying out actions or initiatives other than the indicated ones unless agreed upon with the person in
charge.
By doing so, the user demonstrates to have operated in full compliance with the procedures. Any job or operation other than
the indicated ones may be interpreted as an action that was not requested, consequently arbitrary, for which the executing
one is individually liable.
2.9. GLOSSARY OF THE TERMS USED
TERM DEFINITION
COUNTER CLOCKWISE
Convention; counter clockwise means the direction of rotation, precisely counter clockwise,
intended when looking at the platform from above.
WORK AREA Surface concerned by the movements of the platform, including the outriggers
ARTICULATION
Part of the extendible structure that allows the mutual direction of two different parts of
the articulation itself.
FORWARD Convention; the term forward means the running direction of the truck.
CONTROL BAR Bar used to operate the hand pump
SPIRIT BUBBLE
Instrument used to check that the maximum allowed inclination limit is complied with
during the levelling phase of the platform.
MAIN BOOM
Boom connected to the turret that supports the entire overlaying structure (joint, etc.). It can
be equipped with one or more telescopic extensions.
JIB BOOM
Secondary booms that can be adjusted with respect to the main one through the joint. They
provide support for the end part of the extendible structure. It can be equipped with one or
more telescopic extensions.
CARRIAGE Vehicle on which the platform is installed
BASKET Platform equipped with parapets and control panel inside which the workers stand.
SAFETY COMPONENT:
Componente
intended to carry out a safety function:
launched on the market separate from the machine;
the breakdown and/or malfunction of this component jeopardizes people's safety;
not crucial for the purpose for the purpose for which the machine was designed or that,
for said function, can be replaced with other components.
HOURS COUNTER Instrument that indicates the hours of operation of the platform.
COUNTER-FRAME
Structure anchored to the vehicle frame joined to the extendible structure through the
slewing pin.
OUTRIGGERS CONSENT
It is not possible to manoeuvre the platform when the stabilization has not been properly
carried out. The consent is indicated by the turning on of a light signalling proper stabilization.
PROTECTION DEVICE Device that reduces the risk.
