Chapter 6 Measurement procedures
(5) Check that there is no dirt between the optical adapter and distal end
of the insertion tube, and attach the optical adapter again.
(6) If the accuracy cannot be improved by the described remedial action,
stop using the instrument and send it to Olympus for repair.
NOTE
Check the accuracy by performing test measurements using the check tool before and after
the actual measurement.
Note that the area measurement is only an approximate value and does not provide correct
measurement of the surface area of the object.
Spot ranging
The spot ranging function calculates the distance between the tip of the optical
adapter and the subject. In live images move the distal end of the insertion tube
slowly because vibration makes it impossible to calculate measurements.
1 Selecting the optical adapter
Before executing the object distance measurement, select the stereo optical
adapter to be used by referring to “Stereo optical adapter selection” (page 111).
2 Executing object distance measurement
(1) In live, frozen, and retrieved images
To perform the object distance measurement, display the live, frozen or retrieved
image to be measured and tilt the [ZOOM] lever toward [W]. The object distance
measurement is displayed.
Tilt the [ZOOM] lever on the remote control towards [T] to exit the object distance
measurement function.
