Chapter 4 Basic operations
Withdrawing the insertion tube
Press the [CENT] button on the remote control and then with the distal end
straight, pull the insertion tube out.
Storing the insertion tube
Lift the winding handle of the scope and slowly turn it clockwise to wind up the
insertion tube. Make sure the insertion tube does not tangle as you wind it.
Winding it counterclockwise causes the handle to freewheel.
Finally, close the clamp to prevent the drum from turning, and then nest the tip of
the insertion tube in the scope holder.
CAUTION
• Always wash the insertion tube of the instrument before winding it up. If the insertion tube is
dirty when it is wound up, the dirt may get into the instrument and damage it.
• Wind it slowly. If you wind it too quickly the insertion tube may flip up and unexpectedly injure
your eyes or face. Also, the insertion tube may get tangled and stuck in an unexpected
location.
• Be careful that you do not pinch your hand between the handle and the frame when stowing
the insertion tube.
• After stowing the insertion tube, fold the clip of the handle. The clip may catch on something
and cause an injury.
• Hold the clip and turn it when stowing the insertion tube. Holding any other place may result
in an injury.
• If you notice the insertion tube is caught on something while winding it, do not force it, pull the
insertion tube out and then try winding it again.
