Bluetooth Security
The scanner supports Bluetooth Authentication. Authentication can be requested by either
the remote device or the scanner.
A remote device can still request Authentication.
PIN Code
Parameter # 552
To set and store a PIN code (e.g., password) on the scanner to connect to the host:
1. Scan the Set and Store PIN Code programming symbol below.
2. Scan five alphanumeric programming symbols using the alphanumeric programming
symbols.
3. Scan End of Message in the Advanced Data Formatting Guide.
The default PIN code is 12345.
If the scanner communicates with a host with enabled, synchronize the PIN codes on the
scanner and host. To achieve this, connect the scanner to the host when setting the PIN
codes. If the scanner is not connected to a host, the PIN code change only takes affect on
the scanner. If is required between the scanner and host, and the PIN codes do not match,
pairing fails.
An extended 16 character PIN code is available for additional with Open Bluetooth
(SPP and HID).
