3.2.8.4 How to capture OCT images
Use the following procedure for capturing OCT images.
1. Position the patient, see How to align the patient on page37.
2.
Select OCT to display the OCT scan types.
3. Select the required OCT scan type. See Image modalities on page24.

Capture an SLO image if one has NOT already been captured, see How to capture SLO images on
page39.
5.
Adjust the scan position on the touch screen to the desired location.
6.
Ask the patient to look at the center of the target.
7.
Using the live SLO image, center the cross hairs on the pupil until the target is aligned and turns
green.

Select the live SLOimage on the touch screen or press the top button on the hand control to set up
the OCT. During OCT set up the patient will see the alignment target, tracking scan, and scan pattern,
see The patient's view of OCT alignment on page45.
9. Check the center, focus and location and adjust if necessary, see OCT adjustment controls on
page46.

Select the live SLOimage on the touch screen or press the top button on the hand control to capture.
11.
If required, select Press to check OCT quality to replay the scan.
12.
Review the scan results including SLO position and SNR.
13. Check the quality of the images, see What to do after OCT image capture below.
Note
The patient does NOT need to remain in position when the images are being processed.
3.2.8.5 What to do after OCT image capture
After you have captured your OCT image you have the following options:

Check that the patient is still correctly aligned and select Save and recapture. For more information see
How to capture OCT images above.
l Delete the scan and recapture.
l
Finished OCT.
