Using the Remote Mode
“Remote mode” means that Lasair II particle counter will not be permanently
connected to any other communications or control network while it is collecting
data. That is, it is used in a stand-alone mode to collect data from multiple locations.
Periodically, the particle counter is connected to an Ethernet network to download
its accumulated data to Facility Net. The downloaded data can then be stored in a
digital file which has few if any size limitations and which can be backed up. Also,
the data will then be available to analytical and graphical software.
