Internal Components
Significant internal components include the following:
• Tubing: 3/4-inch I.D., polyethylene tubing is used between the sampling inlet
and the pump, and the pump and the outlet.
• Pump: A regenerative blower pump is located at the base of the unit. The pump
is a low power, DC voltage-controlled unit that is controlled to keep the flow rate
at one cubic foot per minute. This pump was selected for its expected long life
and low maintenance requirements.
• HEPA Filter: The internal HEPA filter eliminates 99.97% of all particles with a
size of 0.3 μm or greater. It is located just before the sample outlet to filter out
particles before the air leaves the particle counter.
