Maintenance
This chapter describes the maintenance you can perform at your location. The main
topics are:
• Cleaning and disinfecting the Lasair II particle counter
• Replacing the particle counter’s printer paper roll
• Reconditioning the battery
• Other maintenance or operational problems
NOTE:
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the Lasair II
particle counter case.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
The Lasair II particle counter is designed to be easily cleaned with common
cleaning chemicals. Particle Measuring Systems has also performed compatibility
testing with cleaning and disinfecting agents commonly used in manufacturing
environments.

Tested Cleaning Chemicals
The Lasair II particle counter is designed to permit external cleaning. The following
cleaning agents have been tested on all exterior parts of the particle counter:
• PHENE-AHO Spray disinfectant, consisting of o-phenylphenol and ethyl
alcohol
• STERI-PEROX, consisting of 5.25% Sodium Hypochlorite
